When purchasing your blades at Superior Grinding & Sales, Inc., we will assist you to make sure you get the right blade for the right job. Not all blades perform the same. Since the paper industry is rapidly changing the content of its product, it is extremely important that the correct material, angles and surface finishes are used.

Types:
High-Carbon/high-Chrome---this grade is AISI d-2 tool steel. It has 12-14% chromium, which provides excellent wear resistance and usually out performs standard carbon steel by a 2 to 1 ratio. It is widely used for lower knives on stitcher trimmer machines.

High Speed Steel—Superior’s super high-speed steel paper cutter knives are guaranteed to give you a minimum of three times more life than standard steel knives. The inlaid cutting edge contains 18% tungsten and is processed by a special patent during heat-treating to make it the best high-speed steel blade on the market today. Also, it can be easily resharpened and has a wider insert to give longer life.

Long Life Carbide – Carbide knives will last 10 to 25 times longer than steel knives. They are ideal for production runs since they substantially reduce downtime caused by frequent changing of conventional knives. Because of the great compressive strength, they have a high resistance to wear.

Mega life Carbide—Carbide of a new Generation designed especially for use in the area of threeknife- trimmers. Here, new standards have been set. These knives are awesome most grind stations don’t like them. There truly is not another knife on the market like them.
